Double Socket – 2ndFix

The Hager Sollysta 2 Gang Socket with USB (model number *SS82-USBCC) is a double pole socket and features two USB-C ports with a current rating of 3 amps an output power of 27 watts which is shared.

The square terminals can accept 3 x 2.5 mm², 3 x 4 mm², and 2 x 6 mm² cables, with two earth terminals provided and joined by a connecting bar and providing earth to the metalwork.

The socket has a width of 146 mm and height of 86 mm, while the depth is 31.5 mm requiring a minimum back box depth of 25 mm.

Variants

A number of variants exist including a flat socket (WFSS82-USBCC) with a 10 mm spacer (model number WMUSBS) for use with a 25 mm back box, however when used without a 35 mm back box is required.

The Crabtree Capital Double Socket with USB (model number 4306/USB/D) offers two USB-A sockets capable of providing a shared 2.1 amps for a total of 10.5 watts power output. It being a variant of the Crabtree Capital Double Socket, most other features remain the same unless stated below.

The sockets are double pole switched.

Of note, the USB sockets are slightly recessed which may pose problems when attempting to use with some cables or devices, depending on plug thickness. Above the USB sockets, the faceplate is embossed with the words ‘USB CHARGER’ and ‘2.1A ⎓ 5V’.

On the rear, the socket indicates it can be used on 50Hz or 60Hz supplies.

The minimum required back box depth is 35mm.

Two fixing screws are provided with the socket.
