Schneider Lisse 1 Gang 5 amp Unswitched Lamp Socket

The Schneider Lisse 1 Gang 5 amp Unswitched Lamp Socket (model number GGBL3080) is a raised profile white round pin socket which is used with 5 amp round pin plugs.

A range of finishes are available alongside the white plastic variant. These are stainless steel with white insert, satin brass with black insert, polished chrome with black insert, and mocha bronze with black insert however these are in the Screwless Deco range.

The rear of the socket features square terminals for the live, neutral and earth cables. The earth terminal also features a connecting strip to providing earthing to the screw and back box. Two locations for the fixing screws are provided for alongside four screw covers which may be optionally used.

The width and height of the faceplate are 87mm which the socket has an overall depth of 27.46mm.

The minimum required back box depth is 25mm.

MK Logic Dimmer Switch

The MK Logic Dimmer Switch (1501WHI) is a dual switch that is part of the Logic range, which has a single fixed load switch on the left, and a variable load combination switch and rotator on the right. It also features an in-built fuse carrier intended to take a three amp fuse located on the bottom edge of the accessory.

The fixed load portion of the switch is two-way with connections for L1 and L2.

A maximum load of 400 watts is specified at 240 volts, while the packaging suggests a minimum load of 60 watts.

Wickes 13 amp 1 Gang Socket with USB

The Wickes 13 amp 1 Gang Socket with USB is a raised profile, square-edged, white plastic single gang socket with switch, and also includes two USB-A ports. The USB ports have a current rating of 2.1 amps which is shared between the two, and are located at the top of the socket above the mains socket.

The switch has a red indicator which is visible when the switch is in the on position.

The terminal capacity of the rear connections are 3 x 2.5 mm², 3 x 4.0 mm² and 2 x 6.0 mm² cables. The minimum required back box depth is 25 mm.

The faceplate has a width and height of 86 mm, and depth of 31 mm.

Included in the package are two fixing screws and white plastic covers.

Crabtree Capital Double Socket with USB

The Crabtree Capital Double Socket with USB (model number 4306/USB/D) offers two USB-A sockets capable of providing a shared 2.1 amps for a total of 10.5 watts power output. It being a variant of the Crabtree Capital Double Socket, most other features remain the same unless stated below.

Of note, the USB sockets are slightly recessed which may pose problems when attempting to use with some cables or devices, depending on plug thickness.

The minimum required back box depth is 35mm.

Crabtree Capital Double Socket

The Crabtree Capital Double Socket (model number 4306) is a raised two-gang socket which features rectangle switches located in the centre of the faceplate. The switches have ‘- ON -‘ visible when in the on position.

Each of the terminal screws are accessible when looking down on the faceplate.

On the rear are live and neutral terminals, alongside two earth terminals which are joined by a large aluminium bar which providing earthing to the fixing screws as well. The rear of the socket is joined to the faceplate with four screws. Different revisions of this socket exist with round and square terminals, as well as varying of the terminal position. The terminals are capable of accepting 3 x 2.5mm² or 2 x 4mm² cables.

The minimum required back box depth is 25mm.

Variants

There are two variants of this specific socket – a single-pole (model number 4306/S) and double-pole (model number 4306/D) with the single-pole variety usually being slightly cheaper. Other variants also exist including the inclusion of USB sockets, neon indicators (model number 4306/3D), and outboard rocker switches (model number 4307) amongst others.
